“Migrating 20 servers and 30 production systems from VMware to Nutanix.”

These are the project requirements:

1. Minimize disruption to ongoing operations and minimize downtime.
2. Reduce hardware project costs to a minimum.
3. Ensure minimal impact after the migration.

“We have walked through this project and discussed it with the customer many times. Finally, we have a blueprint for this project, and here’s what we found:

1. They are using a very old server architecture.
2. Only 20% of the systems can migrate immediately; the remaining 80% require additional work.
3. Some systems can be replaced with new ones.

We scheduled this project with the customer’s management team, and we also worked closely with the customer’s internal developer team. There were many details to consider for this project, and some tasks we didn’t charge additional fees because we enjoyed working with them.

As a result of this project:

1. We combined, redesigned, and optimized hardware and systems, resulting in 8 servers and 16 production systems.
2. Due to the reduced hardware requirements, the project’s cost decreased by 30% compared to the initial estimate.
3. This project took more time because we had to wait for the customer’s internal development team to revise their coding structure. Nonetheless, everyone was delighted when it was completed.”
